Nevermore
by JRP
desperate is a raging sun
notes a vagabond raven
with a smiling face;
nevermore he shrills
through poisoned lips.
shards of laughter
echo in a Baltimore warehouse.
surrender the spoils
quoth the raven,
false is the enemy
enveloped in a radiant sun.
fly, fly poetic raven
into the ashes and dust
of bitter memories;
elusive is the enemy
withering in a blazing sun.

I love your style. Awesome writing!
Thanks! And thanks for taking the time to read my stuff.

This makes me think of Poe. Edgar Allen Poe wrote The Raven, it has always been a favorite of mine. I am enjoying your work. You have a very unique style, very intelligent, very deep. Nice! Thank you for sharing ~ Jen (http://thinkspeaktryst.wordpress.com)
Indeed. I had sort of an homage to Poe when I started to write this but I think I got a little lost at some point.
That happens to me too sometimes! I get inspired all the time, and from all different kinds of things.. as a writer, I have all kinds of things popping up in my mind that I want to write, and I get lost too! I think that’s common for us ‘deep thinkers’, right?
Absolutely. I spend a lot of time journaling and often I’ll start what I think will be a poem and before long I’m off writing about something else…talk about tangential! I try to get back to those bits and pieces as much as I can, but not as much as I’d like. So much to do, so little time…:)
